The original picture is from comic vol.5 p.85. I can't find no original picture of Uruseiyatsura whitch I want to solidify before this. It seems that the character 'Lum' in comic was solidifying gradually in this stage. Although this original picture left somewhat the early style, I decided to make it, since the pose was good.
Although I made the face with conscious of "The stable style", somewhat the early style had been mixed, there is a little indecent portion by the cause of some viewing direction. In this case, sutch as lying down pose is more disadvantageous.
The bodily shape has the portion which remains hardness in a lower half of the body, but I think so-so good finish.
The painting maybe conventional. Since the swimming suit is black, it is enough by brush painting, and especially there is few difficult portion. Although painting the shadow on the skin is said like a common sense in public, I doesn't dare do it, because I think it is unnecessary originally if there is no deception in molding. And because prevent the risk of dirty with failing if dare to paint the shadow. But I made only three reddish accents firmly, on the edge of eyes, knees, and elbows.
When the completion, the leaf color on swimming suit was orange that same as the hair (Its original picture was red and black 2 color printed...), I repainted twice it. Relying the difference of shooting time, orange -> green -> brighter green (present) version coexist in this page.
I made the base with plastic board gluing. Owing to the cave structure, it curved when the time of heat processing, and I had a hard time to correct it.
As the turning out time to completion, the main part took 130 hours, and the surfboard took 30 hours.
