1/12scale Uruseiyatsura/Lum "Electric Jungle"
The original picture is from comic vol.29 p.5. This is my first GAREKI's 5th finished work.
I was influenced by the back illustration that was painted by Ohgami (He is a illustrator), I thought I wish to model the Lum by all means, so I started making it since the first day of 2002 in my home town.
This time, I had some plan so I took silicon casts of this work and reproduced by urethane for the first time. This is so-called GAREKI(garage kit). I'd never been buy & make a gareki by the time. Against so absurd trial, I could make 5 body of finished work of myself kit in a year and some months.
The pose is same as original picture, but at the moment of shooting, I'm worried about some place..leg angle or head angle etc.. I haven't finish the prototype, so I may make the modified version someday.
I had few trouble for making the prototype, usualy I process rougher hair-line on the hair, but this time I processed finest hair-line on it same as tiger bikini for molding it.
I used whole lacquer paint for coating as usual. I coated her skin and the bright base of tiger bikini and hair by air brush, and the other part by face brush. Skin's base color is thickest in this series. The reddish exceeds than the skin standard color(Mr.lacquer #51). Even this the fading of red is worried. The color of hair followed original comic illustrations and I coated tiger bikini simply 2 color same as the originals.
For the shooting, I used 2 sun light and single-lens reflex 35mm camera as usual. The front shoots was supported illustration screen, so I think the impression is fairly different comparing other works. The image size is big for colorful screen, but the effect is too much.-- This work presented to my friend who is good at "Urusei Yatsura" illustration, after just completed.
