1/20scale Uruseiyatsura/Lum "Bloom on ice"
Structural outline desined from "Uruseiyatsura Calender 1984"
This artwork was started very fast but had a long period till it was finished. It was done just before my 10-years long absence. Therefore it is a summarization of my 4 years of figure building technique. So I have lots of feelings with.
Lum looked more hard in the Calender. I had made it more soft and cute, but maybe this is near the "standard looking". The body, with a propotion of "1/6 body length head" and "50% body length leg". Truely calculated scale to create a three size of bust 90cm, weist 60cm, hip 92cm (58cm arround thigh), which evolved from mans hope. I am surprised I was able to bring together these parts in this wide propotion. Lately, comic characters have a smart propotion, but in this comic, all the characters have a glamorous propotion. So I think this figure is maybe accecptable.
After it was made-up, I soon lented it to the Comic-author Miss Rumiko Takahashi. And She still have it. So, I ended up only with 12 pictured photo negative and a wooden form which I used to make frill for costume part.
For shooting, I was using Blue Lamp (which can picture in local colors). Even though, I wasn't very good on photography (especialy when macro), but this one, I think is fine. Unfortunately I shoot less photographs, I'm regrettable that I couldn't shoot more angles. The angle I used above is set higher than in the original picture, but it is one of my farvorite.
