Spray coating process

Painting booth - This is my necessary minimum paint booth. One insertion flier "A" of newspaper is stopped by washing clip, and that's all. Even if the case of large one and need much spray, only change the flier to a newspaper. I'd never evacuated such as using a duct. Although I paint using lacquer almast 100%, if I can't bear the smell of a solvent, open a window and turn on a ventilation fan. In the cold time of winter, I put up with the smell to the limit without ventilation. - "B" is a couple of hand piece. A foot switch and a compressor exist under the desk. - For instance if in the case of a can spray, it injects solvent and paint so much and spray efficiency is bad, so it is dangerous without ventilation from the start.

Base painting of the tiger bikini (leg) - Although the skin is partially masked with the masking tape, if it is yellow level, there is few influence on the skin paint even if it overflow into a skin side, so it is no problem even if without masking forcibly. - Since the surface of the bikini has hair line processed, surface finishing is unnecessary either. Paint the coating thinly and quickly. - The color painting the bikini is not standard yellow (#4), I mixed white and thinning. I used it since it had made by chance and remained, it is usually O.K. coating standard yellow. - The base coating spray (Surfacer) is not necessary also.

Base painting of the tiger bikini (body) - Although repeated, it is OK even if you does not mask forcibly. If done this way, you need time and effort very well. - Even if base paint of the bikini is not by spray, brush coating is also OK. In brush coating, coat the paint so that thin it moderately and may not be thick coating. The masking is unnecessary also.

Finished base painting of the tiger bikini - If it has masked, although the color boundary is decided finely and it looks nice in this time, but there is no substantial meaning. Correct the missed paint portion such as edge by brush coating. Disregard the portion protruded into the skin side :-p. Since the masking is halfway, yellow appeared on the neck. Don't care it.

Masking of the bikini - Part 1 - Mask the bikini before painting of the skin. - Use the attached cut masking tape ("A"-"H") . Since all of them not attached, make yourself the lacked portion such as for the junction side of hands and legs. - If the masking does not fit, it is easy that remake it stucking the original on a new masking tape and cut it.

Masking of the bikini - Part 2 - This is the upper continuation. - On the top's back side, stick the masking tape cut in width of about 1.5mm. - Guard the under of crotch also firmly.

Other masking - Stick tape on the shaft of a head one turn and "G" and " H" on the upper part of socks. - Please make all masking of the junction side of hands and legs yourself except one.

Base coating of the skin - First of all, for the surface check, spray anything flesh color. About the painting technology, although I don't dare notice in detail, thinning the paint enough, adjust the needle stopper most appropriately, move the field always so that it may not become drip, and spray suitable distance (2-3cm). - The base coating spray can has a coarse particle, and cannot adjust the amount of spraying, and it offen remains failure for coating of small and curved surfaces, it is better not to use it.

Surface treatment of the face - On the right side a low level difference made at the time of correction of the silicone model, has come out directly. - Put on the undiluted solution of skin color with brush into the low portion, and finish there after dryness.

Surface treatment of the body - Similarly put on the undiluted solution of skin color with brush to the fine hollows (portion enclosed with circles).

Surface treatment of both legs - Similarly put on the undiluted solution of skin color with brush to the fine hollows on both legs. - Since fine unevenness exist also near the wrist of both arms, put on it similarly.

Surface finishing of the body - This is the state which the portion's put paint have dried up, and finished them to plane using the Sutairo-Sand etc. The portion in circles appear the color of the material for shaving too much. If the material is exposed, a thin level difference remains by the directly spray painting over it, so you should put on the paint by brush painting and finish them previously not to expose the base. This is the work in which required endurance very well. - Exposure of the base of the shoulder top made by shaving in order to erase the parting line.

Mortal arms for finishing - For the finishing work of this stage, use the Sutairo-Sand, shaving knife, finishing paper etc. Since Sutairo-Sand works high pressure for paint, it offten expose the base material by over shaving, you need attention not to that. - This photograph is what rounded cut finishing paper in the shape of spiral. By using this, pressure never applies superfluously and delicate finish of the narrow range is possible.

The state of surface finishing comlpleted - Spray the skin color used for base coat uniformly and check the finish. - In this state, the skin has gloss still. The masking cannot be removed yet.

The state of surface finishing completed - The skin color is still in the state of base coating (having gloss). The portion of the hair which hidden by other parts have not painted.

Finish painting of the skin - Spray the skin color for finish (lusterless) on the whole skin, and next for the shadow part of skin spray shadow color (mixed brown with skin color). Shadow blowing is possible easy correcting even if it overflows, by recoating the skin color, let's do boldly. Although the shadow is quite intensely in this state, the neer completion state (photograph of the bottom of this page) has been settled in quite soft touch.

The state of after shadow blowing of the face - I blew the shadow color on the bottom of jaw, both side of forehead, and under of eyes. Although the under of eyes is difficult, try to pile up blowing even if you fail any number of times.

The state of after blowing accent color of eye sides - Although redness on eye sides is the feature of Rumiko Takahashi's characters, you should try fixing it just once. Considering photographing, the redness is slightly strong is beter. - At the same time I painted the horns with pink, this is brush coating. - The accent of this redness applies also with both knees and both elbows.

The state of spray painting finished - Remove all masking tapes and check the state of paint. - Although I sprayed the hair with mono color of the greenish middle tone (standard color(?) same as animation version), it will also be good to apply gradation with various colors. You should decide what pattern you will make beforehand. Though natural, spray the base from the thinnest color.
